Unbelievable…I've been stuck in this place for a whole year now. A whole year. A whole year without my—

[He trails off, whispering softly to himself.]

They've probably forgotten about me by now. No…they wouldn't do that. They've always waited for me. If only there was a way to get home…or at least to let them know that I'm okay, and that I haven't forgotten about them… I don't want to keep them worried…

[Yes, he misses his otters that much.]

[Action]

[Later on, as he emerges from C3, it doesn't take him long to notice the Battle Dome just south of his building.]

What is that??

[In the mid-afternoon, Jay is in the middle of a nap, tossing and turning in his bed. Which eventually leads to falling off the bed, knocking the journal to the floor in the process, which begins the accidental video broadcast.]

[The video feed shows Jay stirring uncomfortably on the floor for a moment. Suddenly, his upper body jerks up, and he sits on his knees. And then just as suddenly, he grabs his torso with a scream of agony. (It would take severe pain to get Jay to actually scream like this.) He slowly reclines on the floor again for a moment as his scream dies down. He sits up again, raising his hand to a wet spot on his forehead, where black puss is oozing out. He stares at the puss on his hand, looking very puzzled and very terrified. He must have hit his head when he fell from the bed. But that doesn't explain why the ooze seeping from his wound was black. That's when he turns his glance to the journal, realizing that it was recording, and quickly lunges to grab it.]

[Yes, the symptoms of Geostigma are finally setting in. Great, now he knows what's going to happen. Soon, he'd be getting dozens of voices worrying about him.]

[Or maybe not. He's still convinced that no one cares about him. Feel free to convince him otherwise, taunt him for being ill, or direct him to the cure…]

[This whole "Christmas" thing has certainly left Jay with something to think about. Apparently, he's made the mistake of trusting someone and paid dearly for it. Well, he's paid them back, but that's beside the point. And thus, he'd like to get people's opinions to help him analyze a certain concept.]

I'd like to discuss something with everyone. How can you tell that you can truly trust someone? How do you know they won't abandon you?

[Action]

[Jay is beginning to set his gag-gifting plan in motion. He's gathered a large number of crickets and packed them into a pretty green box, tied shut with a pretty red ribbon. He's also attached a tag to it, addressing it to Nami, but the "From" line is left blank.]

[After that, Jay tracks Nami's home address and leaves the present outside the door. He knocks on the door and then quickly flees the scene before anyone sees him. He hides behind a corner, waiting to hear the sound of the door opening.]

[So why is he doing this? Let's just call it payback. Jay is NOT happy that Nami had walked out on him last week. Really, how can she be so insensitive?]

[Jay continues to wait, wishing he could see the look on Nami's face when she opens her little gag gift...]

Voice // Filtered from Nami and her housemates

Hmm...I wonder if I should put together a gift for Kadaj while I'm at it?

[Now that he's fully recovered from the mallynapping, Jay can be found walking aimlessly through the snow with his hands in his pockets. He has nowhere to go in particular, so he just walks, staring down at the ground. Many thoughts are crossing through his mind, and he's not looking very happy. Normally, he would prefer to do something productive, but for now, he just wants to be alone...]

[Or so he tries to convince himself. It's not exactly working, however.]

[Cheer him up? Make him miserable?]

It seems that everyone has received the same letter, offering us a way home. It sounds too good to be true, to be able to get home so soon and so easily. Additionally, a single gate with the ability to send everyone to their respective worlds? It just doesn't seem logical. The Malnosso are known for their experiments, to gather results, so this gate might be another experiment of theirs...which would also suggest that they don't really know what they're doing.

The mention of "Tyr" strikes me as the most crucial clue. I need more details on who he was and what happened to him. The letter states that we'll be "just like him" in a way that sounds foreboding.

Still, the offer is tempting, so this gate should be worth an investigation.

After all, I could easily watch the others become decoys for me.

Home...

[Jay is sitting in his bedroom, looking over the map and housing information brochure that he'd obtained from the Welcome Center. Today, he just feels like jotting down a series of random mundane thoughts.]

Well, the village sure is larger than I thought it would be. And the barrier itself is even larger than I imagined.

The person named "Sephiroth" lives just down the hall from me. That is an unsettling thought. I haven't met him yet, but still...

I did meet Walter, though. He's just as unpleasant as I remember him. How can even his fellow Radiant get along with him with a personality like that?

I haven't kept in much contact with my Legacy companions since I've been here. I don't know what to say to them anymore, really. I feel myself drifting apart from them...

I wonder if Asch has chosen a name for his "mystery drink" at the bar?

I should apologize to John the next time he appears. "Insulting" him was unintentional, but I was ignorant. Since I've obtained more information about him, Luceti, and the Malnosso, I know better now.

There are other things on my mind that I can't write in these journals. I feel...uneasy.

So that thing that attacked me in the amusement park is known as "The Hunter." Apparently the description alone wasn't enough to ring a bell. I found it hard to believe that I was the only one who encountered it. But it seems there were others who were attacked, and even injured that night. I suppose I should consider myself lucky to escape from it unscathed, although I don't like to rely on such a thing. After all, it was my strategy that enabled me to detain it just long enough to gain some running distance. However, since it stopped pursuing me after I left the parameter, perhaps I truly was "lucky." It certainly wasn't an easy feat for me.

I'm also concerned about the voice I recently heard over the journals. Someone was dying by someone else's hand...could that be another Malnosso experiment?

I snuck out of the Halloween ball early, only to be attacked by...something. It was too dark too see it, but my senses felt it was something muscular and humanoid. It was very strong, and very quick, and stabbing his forehead with my dagger didn't even kill it. It pursued me relentlessly, primarily trying to rip off my wings. It took everything I had to escape from it, but fortunately, I was able to outsmart it by getting it stuck in a few areas of the park, buying me time to flee. As frightening as it was, it is good to know that I can still hold my own here.

What was that thing?

When I woke up, the amusement park was gone without a trace. On the floor next to my bed was a doll. An Oresoren doll...

[[OOC: I was going to write the action scene in the log, but then decided not to bother...]]

There's been a dog barking most of the night. I didn't pay much attention to it, but now that I'm up, I notice something out there...some kind of strange structure. I've never seen anything like it where I come from.

Also, someone spoke to us through the journals, as I'm sure most, if not all of you have seen. He said something about "indulging ourselves," which I assumed he was referring to that structure. I suspected that he may have been a Malnosso, but when I inquired about it, he just treated it as an insult. It confused me, because if it was true, then it wouldn't have been an insult. But there is the possibility that I was mistaken. So if anyone could clear that up for me, I'd appreciate it. Whatever the case, he doesn't appear to be very trustworthy...

And can anyone tell me about that structure out there?
