[This whole "Christmas" thing has certainly left Jay with something to think about. Apparently, he's made the mistake of trusting someone and paid dearly for it. Well, he's paid them back, but that's beside the point. And thus, he'd like to get people's opinions to help him analyze a certain concept.]

I'd like to discuss something with everyone. How can you tell that you can truly trust someone? How do you know they won't abandon you?

I don't think you ever really know, man- people can always change, after all, and you can't control them. But it's well worth it to believe that they won't leave you anyway. Life is all about risks! And nobody can live completely alone.

I dunno. After you've been hanging out with them for long enough, you just know it. But I think it's all about knowing the person and believing in your own ability to judge them. I do think if you won't trust anyone, you're in for a really lonely life.
