So many righteous heroic types want to go after that man in black. So clichéd. I'm not thrilled about him roaming free either, but pursuing him is both reckless and pointless.
And that other man chose the perfect time to get killed. I was really hoping he would find a way to stop Kefka when he returned, but it seems that it's still up to me.

Difficult perhaps, but pointless? No, I don't see that. There is always a way, it's only a matter of discovering it. In the meantime, it's worse to endure what could otherwise be fought.
