[Voice] Cold Reality
[And here's Jay with another Cold Reality report.]
Another New Feather cycle, hmm? Welcome, I suppose...although this place isn't meant to be welcoming at all. And for those who are boldly making claims, please don't delude yourselves. You're in for a much more difficult task than you're anticipating. Thus, you won't be escaping from here anytime soon. Not by your own will, anyway. So whatever sanity you have, be sure to hold onto it, because it will be tested.

I know it ain't all happy'n fun but I'm bettin' nothin' ever is for a lotta these people. All you're doin' is takin' away their hope. One thing to tell 'em they're stuck here, another to tell 'em to expect all hell to drop on their heads.

Do you have any idea how disappointed I was when I couldn't escape from here?

[Speaking of, Moses has finished grooming a rather large pelt he found at the store. It's clear he's going to make some clothing out of it.]
The way I see it, there's a way in'n there's gotta be a way out. Even if them Malnosso're sittin' on it, all they gotta do is mess up once'n give us the chance to get back home.

Ever since that blue CEO appeared, there's been one mistake after another on the Malnosso's end, and it still hasn't led us to a way home. So waiting for them to trip up is not a reliable strategy.

[He shrugs nonchalantly, clearly not too fussed about being here still. He hasn't had to deal with experiments yet, anyway.]
People just get hung up on doin' one thing. [He's one to talk.] Nothin' wrong with hangin' back'n lettin' 'em think we're ready to give up. Then bam - we're at their doors'n kickin' 'em in.

As much as I like the idea, we're going to have to do a lot more than just waiting around. But...
[He trails off, not wanting to admit that he has no clue what to do.]

[He carefully rolls up the pelt he was fiddling with, setting it aside with others that match it.]
Watch'n wait or start lettin' some of 'em go underground'n scout around. They'd be expectin' guys like us to get all noisy at 'em but the quiet ones're the scary ones. Them Malnosso can't be everywhere at once.
no subject
[Really, it's not like Jay hasn't tried to work with the population before, but they're either too stupid or too stubborn.]
Scouting underground won't do us any good. You do realize that the Malnosso are located outside of the barrier, don't you? We can't reach them from here at all.
no subject
[He's not buying that. Perhaps no one's actually tried. Or there are too many cooks, not enough pots.]
You're tellin' me that barrier ain't dropped once?
no subject
[The bandit will learn one day; Jay's so certain that even Moses is capable of learning that...eventually. At this point, all this optimism is starting to annoy him.]
The barrier certainly hasn't dropped from any of our efforts. The last time it malfunctioned, it led to a full-scale monster invasion. Not to mention, if the barrier were to be removed, it would invite the Third Party in to attack.
[So in a way, the barrier is a good thing as much as it is a bad thing.]
no subject
[The optimism, it burnses us, precious. It BURNS.]
'Sides, them Third Party bastards get enough shots at us 'cause of the Malnosso sendin' us out to start killin' 'em. You even try to rush 'em when the barrier was down'n the monsters were causin' distractions everywhere?
