[Accidental Voice/Action] 1st Anniversary

Unbelievable…I've been stuck in this place for a whole year now. A whole year. A whole year without my—

[He trails off, whispering softly to himself.]

They've probably forgotten about me by now. No…they wouldn't do that. They've always waited for me. If only there was a way to get home…or at least to let them know that I'm okay, and that I haven't forgotten about them… I don't want to keep them worried…

[Yes, he misses his otters that much.]

[Action]

[Later on, as he emerges from C3, it doesn't take him long to notice the Battle Dome just south of his building.]

What is that??

[Giles follows Jay, regarding the bear curiously] Well, isn't that big.

You take one side and I'll take the other?

This is one of the most common monsters that exist in my world, the Egg Bear.

That sounds effective enough.

[Jay circles to one side of the bear, hands still in his pockets. He smirks at the feeling pulsing through him. It feels just like home. Yes, he's going to like this battle dome.]

[For Giles, however, fighting in such a wide open space is...strange. He's used to crowded cemeteries and dark alleys. He's also not used to fighting something quite so big]

[Still. He circles around to the other side, ready to lash out with the staff as soon as he gets close enough.]

[Jay slowly inches closer to the bear from his side. The bear has its attention on Giles as he draws closer, and then it takes a swing at him with its claws...]

[Giles ducks under the claws and jabs out with the staff, landing a blow against the bear's jaw]

[identity profile] unseenspy.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[As the bear stumbles back from the attack, Jay rushes in from the other side, landing a snap kick to the bear's torso.]

[Giles swings the staff again, knocking the bear's claws away before swinging it round against its neck]

[identity profile] unseenspy.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Not bad.

[Jay dashes past the bear, slashing its side with his dagger.]

[Giles has to sidestep a swipe from the bear's other paw, but he manages it] Thank you. [Followed by a sharp blow to its knee]

[identity profile] unseenspy.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[As the bear is thrown off balance, Jay leaps into the air, stomping on it with both feet, then flips backwards and lands on his feet.]

[Giles cracks the staff against the bear's other knee and then steps back, ready to clear out should it look ready to fall on him]

[identity profile] unseenspy.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
[And sure enough, the bear does fall over, hitting the ground face-first with a low thud.]

Stand back!

[Jay flings a small dagger at the bear, which causes a small fiery explosion on impact. At that point, the bear stops moving. The simulation ends, and the scenery fades away, leaving the pair in an empty room once again.]

Well, that was good for a trial run.

[They could get serious later.]

Interesting, certainly. [Giles glances around the empty room, curious despite himself] Wonder what else it could manage...

How did you make that thing, that, that bear?

[identity profile] unseenspy.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Jay pulls out the manual and hands it back to him.]

This should tell you everything you need to know.

[All right then. Giles takes the manual and starts walking towards the door out. He pauses after opening it, however, and looks back]

Sorry I never got back to you, by the way.

[identity profile] unseenspy.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
It's fine. Everyone's been busy lately.

In fact, I don't even think I got your name.

Don't worry. I'm fairly certain I never got yours', either.

Rupert Giles. Nice to meet you.

[identity profile] unseenspy.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'm Jay. Pleased to make your acquaintance.

Perhaps another time. Thank you.

Not at all. Never would have figured this thing out by myself. [He really, really means that] Well. Thanks for training with me.
