Name: Jay the Unseen

History: Jay was abandoned as a baby, and taken in by a cruel and sadistic ninja named Solon. Solon raised Jay as an assassin, but also abused him in every way possible, leaving him as nothing more than an empty shell, willing to obey Solon's every command. It all changed when Solon used Jay as a decoy to escape from the Legacy after a failed assassination attempt. Jay collapsed outside of a village, where a race of otter-like creatures called Oresoren took him in and raised him back to health.
As Jay lived with the Oresoren, he wouldn't speak at all at first. But as time went on, he gradually became more cheerful, and he used his skills to make his own business as an information dealer. With his spying skills, and the Oresoren as his network, he became known as the enigmatic information dealer, Jay the Unseen. Meeting Senel Coolidge and his party eventually led him to even greater happiness. When Solon returned to the Legacy, Jay was thrust into emotional turmoil once again, and Solon was once again able to bend him to his will by threatening the Oresoren. Senel and the group tried to reach out to him, but Jay insisted nothing was wrong. But after a talk from Shirley, Jay realized that he needed to reach out to them. And finally, with their help, he was able to defeat Solon, and finally gets his wish of having a family.
Personality: Jay is quite cynical; he tells the naked truth, no matter how ugly. He doesn't waste time mincing words for the sake of going easy on others or sparing them emotional pain. He tells it like it is.
Jay can be mischievous at times. He pulls a few pranks on Senel's party before joining the team himself. He evaluates Senel's strength by yelling an aggressive statement within a crowd, and then insisting that Senel was the one who said it. Jay watches with glee as the Bantam Bouncers appear, and Senel pummels them. Later, he tricks the group by telling them of a secret entrance to the Ruins of Frozen Light from a certain spot outside the aforementioned ruins. The group gets into the Poppo Mk. III in order to get through the passage from the Great Hollow to the Ruins of Frozen Light. Upon arrival, however, they step outside...to the same spot where Jay had told them of the secret entrance in the first place. He also has an insatiable habit of bickering with Moses.
Jay enjoys competition. He challenges Senel to a boat race to see which of them is better at handling boats. Later, he challenges Cashel to a hide-and-seek game to see who possessed the better ninja skills. Jay wins the latter game handily. His quote from both scenes is, "I get anxious when another person and I are good at the same things. I always feel I simply must find out which one is truly better. Don't you?"
Strengths:
Physical: Jay is quite fast, thanks to his ninja abilities. He wields daggers in battle, and can channel elements into his attacks, as well as lower an enemy's resistance to a certain element.
Mental: Jay is very intelligent, able to thoroughly analyze any situation and devise brilliant strategies based on the circumstances. He also has an incredible ability to compensate when things go wrong. He is skilled at gathering general information on the happenings of the Legacy, with which he makes his occupation as an information dealer.
Emotional: Jay doesn't let his emotions get in the way of what needs to be done.
Weaknesses:
Physical: Jay is small and scrawny, leading to a lack of brute strength.
Mental: He is easily manipulated by his former master, Solon. He was raised to believe that he was destined to be nothing more than putty in Solon's hands.
Emotional: Again, on the subject of Solon, who uses Jay's feelings towards the Oresoren to manipulate him. Jay has been distant from Senel's group out of fear of getting hurt. As he has been raised as an emotionless killer, Jay has many negative emotions bottled up inside that he has yet to release.
