[After talking with Vincent Valentine, Jay decides to look for the "mirrors" himself. He finds his way to the House of Personas and enters. He doesn't necessarily look for the man, as he assumes that Vincent has left already. Jay peers into the mirrors and instantly sees his younger, murderous self. The small boy with the look of pure ice, with a bloody dagger in his hand. Jay gasps at the sight, staring at it blankly.

It was no wonder. There must have been something from Vincent's past that he did not want anyone to see, and Jay could relate to that.
